You may only know of Rinnai for their tankless hot water heaters but they also have an extremely efficient line of vent-free fan convector gas heaters. The FC824 is a great solution for hard to heat rooms. It includes a convection fan that helps to evenly distribute the 24,000 BTUs (NG; 22,000 BTUs LP) of warmth throughout your space. It features modulating technology which includes a modulating gas valve and a variable-speed blower. In combination, this allows the furnace to use the exact amount of gas needed to produce the heat required for your space. Because it is a ventless heater, it does not need to be installed near an exterior wall - you just need to have the gas line located appropriately. Of course, you also need to have the appropriate minimum clearances - which are 2 inches all around (top, back, and sides) and 30 inches in front of the heater.

The FC824 also features Rinnai technology that consistently and constantly monitors the temperature so if a door opens and lets in cold air, it will be regulated automatically for your comfort. Another advantage of being vent-free is the fact that there is virtually no heat loss with this heater. It provides approximately 99.9% efficiency making it one of the most fuel-efficient heating products on the market, not to mention its clean appearance and quiet operation! It has 44dB / 30dB (H/L) noise levels.

The easy to use control panel is located on the top of the unit. The push-button electronic ignition means there is no standing pilot on this furnace, offering an additional layer of safety for you and your family. The touch button controls to set your temperatures and modes are clearly labeled and easy to use. The temperature settings range from 60°F - 80°F in two-degree increments. It also has a timer function to allow you to delay the start of the heater for up to 24 hours as well as a 60 minute time delay to turn the furnace off. The LED Temperature Display will show either the time of day, temperature, or error code messages. There is even a filter indicator that will light up when the filter needs to be cleaned.

This heater is intended for use as a supplemental heat source. It is suitable for homes, apartments, and condominiums, residential or commercial settings. It is also a modular/mobile home approved. It is forced combustion, forced convection gas heater.

• Oxygen Depletion Sensor will disable the gas supply if the oxygen level in the room drops to unsafe levels
• An overheated switch will automatically shut down the unit if it exceeds a predetermined temperature
• A tilt switch will automatically disable the gas supply if the heater is knocked over. It may also activate if the heater is jolted or picked up while in use
• In the event of a power failure, the gas supply will be disabled
• If the burner flame is extinguished, the appliance will shut down
