DuraFlex Pro - DuraFlex Pro is the ultimate in flexible steel liners for strength and flexibility. It features 20% more stainless steel per foot compared to other liners on the market. Its extreme flexibility facilitates problem free installations where multiple offsets are needed. DuraFlex Pro is available in 3″ through 12″ diameters in lengths, kits and custom lengths. DuraFlex Pro is manufactured utilizing highly corrosion resistant 316 Stainless Steel. Listed to UL 1777 and ULC S635.

DuraFlex SW - DuraFlex SW is a smooth inner-wall, flexible stainless steel chimney liner. The smooth inner wall provides for no output reduction allowing for full appliance efficiency. Smooth wall construction eliminates ridges that restrict flue gas flow and collect deposits. The lack of ridges facilitates cleaning and maintenance. DuraFlex SW is ideal for relining masonry chimney for wood and gas burning appliances. Listed to UL 1777.

DuraFlex 316 & 304 - DuraFlex 304 and 316 are lighter, more economical liners. Excellent when there are minimal offsets in the chimney. DuraFlex 304SS and 316SS are intended for wood burning, non-condensing gas and oil fired appliances. Where greater corrosion resistance is desired, such as coal-fired appliances, DuraFlex 316 is recommended. DuraFlex 304SS and 316SS are listed to UL 1777 and ULC S635.

DuraFlex Aluminum - An economical venting system used for relining masonry chimney for natural gas or liquid propane category I, draft hood equipped appliances, and appliances tested and listed to use Type B Gas Vent for a wide range of applications, including: natural gas fireplaces, gas-fired furnaces, boilers, water heaters, and wall or space heating applications. Protects the masonry chimney from damaging effects of flue product condensation.

What is DuraVent DuraFlex Stainless Steel's Typical Installation?

Typical Installation

Refer to our Typical Venting Installation drawings to select the appropriate component parts for your installation.

  • The inner pipe diameter should match the outlet size of the appliance.
  • Check the appliance manufacturer’s installation instructions to confirm which types of vent configurations are permitted (i.e. horizontal, vertical, chimney reline, etc.). Also, check for any venting restrictions such as maximum horizontal run, minimum and maximum vertical rise, maximum offset, etc.
  • Be fire safe! Use proper support and bracing. Follow local building codes and have your venting system inspected.

Planning Your Installation:

  1. Verify the venting requirements of the appliance used. Choose the liner system appropriate for the appliance and installation.
  2. Refer to the Typical Installations for the type of liner installation similar to your situation. Identify the needed parts for installation.
  3. The size of the liner should match the outlet size on the appliance or the size of the vent/manifold that penetrates into the masonry chimney.
  4. Determined the length of the liner needed.
  5. Make sure of a proper fit for the Top Plate of the reliner to provide a secure, leak-proof installation.
  6. If a free-standing appliance is used, select the vent or stovepipe pieces to connect from the appliance to the liner (refer to the appropriate section of catalog).
  7. Important! Check to be sure the installation complies with all local and national code requirements, including clearance to combustibles. Contact the local building inspector for permit requirements.

Design Recommendations

  • The following design recommendations are intended only as a general guideline to assist in the design and selection of liner components for your installation. Always read and follow Duravent Installation instructions (enclosed with the cap or support box) before installing DuraFlex. Installation instructions can be viewed online at www.duravent.com, under catalogs and instructions.
  • Before relining a chimney, it should be cleaned and inspected to verify the integrity of the mortar and masonry. In addition, have a certified chimney professional determine if the masonry was constructed with 0” or 1” clearance to the surrounding combustibles. This is an important fire safety issue that may have an influence on how the liner is installed.
  • Be sure to select the proper liner for the application. DuraFlex SS is used for appliances that use oil, wood, or wood-pellets for fuel; DuraFlex AL is for a non-condensing gas appliance. Refer to the appliance manufacturer for installation requirements affecting venting. Keep the vent path as straight as possible for best performance.

Relining Solutions

DuraVent is the first manufacturer to have a UL-listed relining system for factory-built chimneys to be used with solid-fuel appliances in the USA. When a homeowner installs a wood-burning insert into an existing UL127-listed fireplace, relining the existing chimney is critical for performance and safety. Check out the installation video and bulletins.

How Size and Height Affect Stove Performance

  • The amount of heat the vent gases loose as they flow determines how much condensation will occur and how strong the draft will be. To control the heat loses, proper selection of venting materials is of vital importance.
  • Double-wall Type B Gas Vent, with an aluminum inner wall and a galvanized steel outer wall, has proven to be the ideal choice in venting materials.

Using listed Type B Gas Vent caps may terminate in accordance with this table.

  • Researched and ordered my fireplace from US FIreplace Store. Pricing was a fair value however, the customer service was EXCELLENT! I had an issue with the direct vent venting. I called US Fireplace and the correct items were sent out the next day AND Janessa stayed on top of my return authorization and sent me the permissions and documents I needed to return the incorrect item and no cost to me, including return shipping. Overall, I am a very satisfied customer and my fireplace looks and operates flawlessly. I am glad that I selected US FIreplace to source my direct vent fireplace. Thank you for the great service.

  • I had placed an order, through Lowe's Home Improvement, for an Electric Firebox: Revillusion RBF42. Ordered 1st part of January. Was told I would have it in 3 weeks. When checking to see is it came in, was told it was delayed to 3/15. Was then told is was delayed until 4/25. Waited until 4/27 to check on it. Was then told it was now delayed until August. This firebox was going in a new Sun Room addition. I could not get my final inspection until the Firebox was installed. I went on line and googled for this same product. US Fireplace Store web site was given to me. This was on a Saturday. I call and reached a very nice man. Explain what I was look for. He checked and told me they had 30 of them in stock. I almost fell out of my chair. I clarified with him the product I was wanting. I ask how soon could I get it. He told me it would ship today. Again, was amazed. It arrived on the following Monday. What a pleasure and a relief working with US Fireplace Store and their employees. Exceed my expectations.

  • Great prices, quick delivery and fast hassle free services on the issue I encountered. I had purchased an electric fireplace unit that would not fit into the existing fireplace space. With one email I was able to get the wrong fireplace refunded and picked up at my home at no extra cost and the new one I purchased and delivered free of charge. Great company.
