Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use media kits from different fireplaces?Unfortunately, no. Media kits and other items are tested and certified for specific appliances. If that media kit/element is not listed as an option for the product, you will not be able to use it. |
Can I use an extension cord with my electric fireplace?We highly recommend that you do not use an extension cord to plug in your Electric Fireplace. Napoleon Electric Fireplaces need to be plugged directly into the wall, on their own dedicated circuit with 15 amps. |
My remote won’t sync with the receiver and/ or function anymore?
Upon changing the batteries in the remote and the receiver, it may be necessary to replace the remote system. Remote systems are warrantied for one year. Please do the following prior to replacing the remote system: When changing batteries in the remote or receiver you will need to resync the system. You need to have the remote turned off, as well the receiver in the off position. Put the receiver in the remote position, the system will flash and/or beep. Press the on button on the handheld remote for two-three seconds and the receiver should flash and/or beep. This will indicate it is synced. Turn the remote off, then on and you should be good to go! |
Upon changing batteries I now have a lock symbol on my remote, what happened? |
Upon changing batteries in my hand held remote the screen is no longer working but was before changing them, what happened?There is a possibility that the battery nub on the end of the battery is smaller. You can take a butter knife and stretch out the springs, so it makes full contact. |
What are BTU’s?BTU’s (British Thermal Units) are a standard of measurement which represent the heat value of any type of energy used to create heat. The amount of fuel that a fireplace will consume per hour is calculated with the BTU value of the fuel it uses to determine the input of that fireplace. BTU values of any type of energy are determined by the actual amount of heat required to increase the temperature of one pound of water, by one degree Fahrenheit. |
What products should I use to clean the glass on my fireplace?
Please do NOT use regular window/glass cleaners on fireplace glass. |

Yes. The thermostat in electric fireplaces can help you maintain a desired temperature range for each room. |
Can I use a Napoleon electric fireplace without heat?
Yes. There is an option to turn off the heater and blower on our electric fireplaces, perfect for enjoying the ambiance of a fireplace on warm summer nights. |
How is a Napoleon wall-mounted electric fireplace installed?A number of electric fireplaces by Napoleon are perfect for mounting on the wall. Units can be hung on an installable bracket or recessed into the wall. Either way, the fireplace will include the needed brackets and templates for installation. |

I had placed an order, through Lowe's Home Improvement, for an Electric Firebox: Revillusion RBF42. Ordered 1st part of January. Was told I would have it in 3 weeks. When checking to see is it came in, was told it was delayed to 3/15. Was then told is was delayed until 4/25. Waited until 4/27 to check on it. Was then told it was now delayed until August. This firebox was going in a new Sun Room addition. I could not get my final inspection until the Firebox was installed. I went on line and googled for this same product. US Fireplace Store web site was given to me. This was on a Saturday. I call and reached a very nice man. Explain what I was look for. He checked and told me they had 30 of them in stock. I almost fell out of my chair. I clarified with him the product I was wanting. I ask how soon could I get it. He told me it would ship today. Again, was amazed. It arrived on the following Monday. What a pleasure and a relief working with US Fireplace Store and their employees. Exceed my expectations.
