The IntelliDraft connects a draft and safety controller, the ADC150 and its pressure sensor, to an RS Chimney Fan, the MFD Chimney Damper and the fireplace’s gas valve.
| The ADC150 is a Modulating Fan and Damper Control used with gas fireplaces where it monitors and maintains a constant draft in a chimney. It is used with model RS fans.
It monitors the draft in a chimney system via a connection to a pressure transducer (XTP) attached to the chimney, and maintains the draft by modulating the fan speed.
Use: The ENERVEX ADC150 is a Modulating Fan Control used with up to 2 appliances to monitor and maintain a constant draft or pressure in a chimney or duct. The ADC150 can be used with models RS, RSHT, and GSV fans. It can control the fan speed directly or via a Variable Frequency Drive (VFD, sold separately). Description: The ADC150 monitors the draft in a chimney system via a connection to a pressure transducer (XTP) attached to the chimney, and maintains the draft by modulating the fan speed. It provides a 10-120V AC power to single phase fans and 0-10V DC control signal to control 3-phase fans via a variable frequency drive. The control has an integrated safety system that assures the heating appliance(s) is shut down in case of insufficient draft after 15-180 seconds (user adjustable). The ADC150 has an integrated damper relay that works with ENERVEX MFD (Mechanical Fireplace Damper) to automatically open the damper prior to fan initialization and close the damper after the appliance shuts down. End-switches in the damper actuator wired to the ADC150 ensure the damper must be fully open prior to allowing the appliance to operate. The control also features a post purge function (3 min) to evacuate the chimney system of residual flue gases after the appliance shuts down. RS Chimney Fan
Are you having incurable draft problems? Look no further for a solution. The RS Chimney Fan mounts outside the chimney, where it literally sucks the smoke out from the chimney flue. The chimney fan is designed to disperse the smoke sideways (horizontal) just like a standard chimney cap. The RS is particularly suitable for gas-fired fireplaces and stoves. Installation is clean and easy - and the fan's compact design is barely visible from the ground level. The fan can be recessed or hidden behind the chimney top enclosure. Features:

This MFD Mechanical Fireplace Damper prevents heat from escaping up through the chimney when the fireplace is not in use, and prevents backdraft down the chimney. It is designed for chimney top installations. The MFD is used as a component in a combined fan and damper system. The damper actuator can be interlocked to a control (ADC100 or ADC150) so it only operates when the fireplace is in use and the fan is running. The damper is equipped with fail safe system and is rated for 1400°F (760°C).

When the user wants to turn on the fireplace – typically using a wall switch – the controller signals the mechanical chimney damper to open. Once open, the controller automatically ramps up the chimney fan speed until the draft set-point has been reached and the integrated draft protection switch closes. At this point, the controller allows the fireplace to fire by opening the gas valve.
During operation of the fireplace the control continues to monitor the draft and will maintain the proper draft set-point by modulating the chimney fan speed whenever needed.
When the user turns the fireplace or appliance off, the control leaves the damper open until all residual combustion products have been exhausted out of the building by the chimney fan; then the control discontinues chimney fan operation and closes the damper.
If for any reason the draft set-point can’t be maintained during operation, the controller will completely shut down the fireplace or appliance operation.
